GirlsTaketheLead.org Programming Policies & FAQs

If a Girls Take the Lead In Person camp is cancelled by Girls Take the Lead due to covid you will have the option to participate virtually or receive a full refund.

Parent Communication
Communication requesting a transfer or refund within GirlsTaketheLead.org policy must be submitted by email to explore@girlstakethelead.org.

Platform for Virtual Programming
GirlsTaketheLead.org uses Zoom as its video platform. There is no cost to join a Zoom meeting or class. You do not need a Zoom license.  Zoom works with most devices and operating systems. If you are not sure about your devices refer to Zoom technical requirements.  You will be prompted to download Zoom the first time you join a GirlsTaketheLead.org class.  After the download, your learner will only need to click the link provided before each virtual class start.

Student Attendance
GirlsTaketheLead.org in person programs are rostered and require preregistration. Staff check in and check-out participating students.

GirlsTaketheLead.org Virtual Programs are rostered live online classes. Attendance will be taken in the zoom waiting room. We ask learners to check in with the instructor and enable the audio and video throughout the class.

Recording
We do not authorize recording of any GirlsTaketheLead.org Programs.

Devices for Virtual Programming
You will need a technology device with a microphone and webcam. Most newer devices have these built in. If you enroll multiple learners in one class, each should have their own device. If there is a specific device requirement for a class, it will be posted in the class description.

GirlsTaketheLead.org Staff
We screen, interview and do background checks on all GirlsTaketheLead.org staff. In addition GirlsTaketheLead.org staff are trained in our process and learning tools. Non GirlsTaketheLead.org personnel are not allowed in a GirlsTaketheLead.org program.

1:1 Private Sessions
Parents can request 1:1 private sessions. Scheduling is based on availability.

Small Groups, Learning Pods
Families and schools can request customized sessions for small groups and pods. Scheduling is based on availability.

Cancellation
GirlsTaketheLead.org does not provide refunds for programs we do not cancel. A full refund is provided if GirlsTaketheLead.org cancels a program.

If you miss a class, you are not entitled to a refund.  

If your learners have not joined the virtual class meeting 10 minutes after the start time, the meeting may be cancelled, at GirlsTaketheLead.org discretion. This is considered a missed meeting and you are not entitled to a refund. 

Transfer
A parent can request a transfer to a similar GirlsTaketheLead.org program or virtual class, up to 1 week in advance of the GirlsTaketheLead.org program or virtual class start time. A completed transfer is dependent on availability in the GirlsTaketheLead.org campus program or virtual class. A transfer request must be made by email to explore@girlstakethelead.org.

Refund
GirlsTaketheLead.org does not provide refunds for programs we do not cancel. A full refund is provided if GirlsTaketheLead.org cancels a program.

If you miss a class or camp, you are not entitled to a refund.
