 GirlsTakeTheLead is committed to providing welcoming, respectful, and engaging learning experiences for students, families, educators, schools, and community partners.

These policies are designed to help create a positive and productive learning environment across our in-person and live virtual programs.

Registration & Participation

Program availability, schedules, age or grade requirements, and participation guidelines may vary by program.

Registration is not considered complete until required registration information and, when applicable, payment have been received.

For students under 18, registration and participation information should be submitted or approved by a parent, guardian, school, or authorized organization.

Cancellations & Schedule Changes

We understand that schedules change.

Cancellation, rescheduling, refund, and credit policies may vary depending on the program, tutoring arrangement, event, or partner agreement. Any program-specific terms provided during registration or enrollment will take precedence.

GreenApple Campus and GirlsTakeTheLead reserve the right to modify, reschedule, or cancel a program when necessary. When possible, participants will be notified promptly and offered an appropriate alternative, credit, or refund when applicable.

Tutoring & Academic Support

Tutoring sessions are scheduled based on tutor availability and student needs.

Families should provide reasonable notice when a student cannot attend a scheduled session. Repeated missed sessions or late cancellations may affect future scheduling or eligibility for make-up sessions.

Tutoring and academic support are intended to supplement—not replace—a student’s school instruction, teacher guidance, or other educational services.

Live Virtual Programs

Participants in live virtual programs are expected to join from an appropriate learning environment and interact respectfully with instructors and other participants.

Parents and guardians are responsible for providing appropriate technology, internet access, and supervision when needed based on the student’s age.

Links and access information for virtual sessions should not be shared with individuals who are not registered or authorized to participate.

Student Conduct

We strive to create learning environments where every participant feels respected and able to contribute.

Participants are expected to:

• Treat other students, instructors, mentors, and staff with respect.
• Participate in a safe and appropriate manner.
• Use technology responsibly.
• Respect the ideas, work, privacy, and property of others.
• Follow reasonable instructions from program staff.

Behavior that disrupts learning, threatens safety, involves harassment or bullying, or substantially interferes with another participant’s experience may result in removal from a session or program.

Technology & AI

Some programs may incorporate artificial intelligence, digital platforms, emerging technologies, or third-party educational tools.

Students are encouraged to use technology creatively, critically, responsibly, and ethically.

Program staff may establish additional guidelines regarding appropriate technology and AI use depending on the activity and age of participants.

Student Work, Photos & Media

Student projects, photographs, video, audio, names, or other identifying information will not be intentionally used for public promotional purposes without appropriate permission from a parent/guardian or participant, as applicable.

Permission to use student work or media may be requested separately from program registration.

Accessibility & Individual Needs

We want students to be able to participate successfully in our programs.

Parents, guardians, schools, and partner organizations are encouraged to contact us before a program begins regarding accommodations or individual learning needs that may affect participation. We will make reasonable efforts to support participation when feasible.

Safety

Student safety is important to us.

Participants must follow safety instructions associated with program activities, technology, equipment, facilities, and learning environments.

Parents and guardians remain responsible for appropriate supervision outside of the direct instructional environment, including during virtual participation from home.
