Friday Showcase at 3pm
Ingenuity Project
The Ingenuity Project is an entrepreneurial innovation program transforming ideas into action. Girls will be inspired to be the creators not just the consumers of technology, bringing their vision to life. Let’s be hands on innovators to design, prototype and create.
In this experiential program we apply Design Thinking tools and innovation techniques to inspire creative problem solvers to bring new possibilities to life.
Girls will collaborate in Ingenuity Challenges, Design Slam and Leadership activities to emphasize teamwork and resilience. Explore innovation technology in IoT, wearables, clean tech, VR and CAD to design our solution, participate in rapid prototyping and prepare our pitch for the Friday Showcase.
Let’s spark the growth of future innovators…Ingenious!
Pollution Solution
Where: Olin College Needham MA
When: July 20 – July 24
Monday thru Friday
8:30am – 5:30pm
Friday Showcase at 3pm
Pollution Solution
Let’s be eco scientists and discover, explore and experiment in the eco challenges that impact us locally and globally. Are we living green? We all use water, create trash, create waste and pollution. How about clean water? Whats is your water footprint and carbon footprint? Plastics in the ocean are so harmful to the environment, birds, sea life and us. How can we alter the lifecycle of plastics?
We will rise to the challenge, collaborate and innovate to positively impact the Pollution Solution and demonstrate ideas with an app, game of video project for the Friday Showcase.
NASA Lab
Where: Olin College Needham MA
When: July 27 – July 31
Monday thru Friday
8:30am – 5:30pm
Friday Showcase at 3pm
NASA Lab
It’s been almost 20 years since people began living aboard the ISS or International Space Station. To date 239 people from 19 countries have visited the ISS. What’s more exciting, we had the first all women spacewalk. So what’s next?
In the NASA Lab our mission is to explore living in space and invent, design, and prototype something that solves a real world problem simulation.
Girls are challenged to use their skills in creative problem solving, design process, design thinking and 3D printer technologies.
We explore all things NASA, robotics in space, space exploration and SpaceX. We will explore aeronautics, rovers, rockets, robotic arms and space engineering.
Students will share their projects in the Friday Showcase
The Design Space
Where: Olin College Needham MA
When: August 3 – August 7
Monday thru Friday
8:30am – 5:30pm
Friday Showcase at 3pm
The Design Space
STEM & Design are natural partners. After all you can’t build anything without design. Creativity is said to be the global success skill of 2030 and beyond. There will be challenges that require creative problem solving so let’s be creative!
Apple stands out as a company known for its innovation, design and creativity. Find and engineer the beauty in things..one of what’s called the Apple Rules is to merge aesthetics and innovation.
The Design Space explores where design and technology intersect. Students will use the engineering design process as they explore the minds on approach to engage creatively and critical thinking.
We will jump into the world of wearable technology and discover how to combine hands on design with CAD or computer aided design, electronics, and coding to create unique and interactive products using new skills in design and physical computing.
Students will share their projects in the Friday Showcase.
Friday Showcase
At the end of each program week, on Friday afternoons, parents and friends are invited to the Friday Showcase to see participants’ final projects. The presentation formats will vary depending on the course and age group. Instructors will highlight some of the important concepts covered over the week. Be sure to arrive early as the showcase starts at 3pm and typically concludes at 4pm. See you there!
