Spring Into Citizen Science

Be Part of the Climate Solution with this Mini Challenge

Spring is a great time to get outdoors for some Citizen Science. You can join a Citizen Science program to share your observations or use your own Bird Journal Notebook or Bird Journal app. Though digital, the apps also have a community component to share observations and sightings.

We're Going to the Birds!

Let’s go outside! Grab the kids and some bird identification apps and go birding. There are even Virtual Tours or walks through the park online.

What is Citizen Science?

Citizen science in birding is a way of crowdsourcing and organizing data to be combined with scientific research by ornithologists (people who study or are expert on birds). Professionals and amateurs together can participate and contribute to the conservation of birds. In this changing world, it is important to work together to monitor and track populations, the impacts of habitat destruction, the effects of climate change, and the subsequent changes in habitat and food source for birds.
